OUTREACH & HOME VISITS

As part of our outreach work, where feasible, we carry out home visits with Safe Home housing applicants throughout the UK . We meet with applicants in their own homes, go through the application process with them in detail, answer any questions they may have and assess their situation. Where relevant, we can refer them to local support services in the area to improve their situations (financial/housing/support), as they wait to return home to Ireland.

We can also provide an outreach and advocacy service to people who have returned to Ireland and who may need assistance with applying for benefits and entitlements. We can also refer people to relevant services and support agencies in Ireland that may be of assistance.

HOUSING APPLICANTS - UK

Safe Home Ireland visit our housing applicants in the UK before they return to Ireland. We explain the returning process in detail and answer any questions they might have.

RETURNED EMIGRANTS - IRELAND

We provide an outreach and advocacy service to people have returned to Ireland and who need assistance applying for healthcare services, social welfare, a bank account or other essential services.

EMIGRANT SUPPORT AGENCIES

Our outreach team travel to the UK to deliver information sessions at supporting organisations such as the London Irish Centre and the Luton Irish Forum. Through these visits, we aim to connect with Irish emigrants and to provide information on our services.
